Ohio coach charged with sexual battery involving student

Kory Ross, a 34-year-old middle school coach in Ohio, has been arrested for sexual battery involving a student. The alleged incidents occurred over a year, starting in September 2023. Ross is charged with one count of sexual battery, a third-degree felony. Court documents indicate that he engaged in unlawful sexual conduct with the victim during this time. Currently, Ross works as a track and wrestling coach for Johnstown Monroe Local Schools. However, the alleged crimes took place while he was employed at Pickerington Ridgeview Junior High School in the Pickerington Local Schools district. Superintendent Philip Wagner stated that the allegations relate to events before Ross joined Johnstown Monroe and do not involve students from that district. Ross is not a teacher and has also worked as a substitute teacher and duty aide. He has been placed on administrative leave and is being held in jail with a bond set at $250,000.
