Ohio shelter rescues abandoned mother cat and kittens
An animal shelter in Ohio has rescued a mother cat and her newborn kittens after they were abandoned in a cardboard box in the woods. The rescue took place on March 14 at Smith Park in Middletown, Ohio. The shelter, called Joseph's Legacy, shared the story on Facebook and expressed anger towards the person who left the animals behind. The post, written by the shelter's owner, included humorous but pointed wishes for misfortune to befall the former owner. It mentioned things like damp socks, squeaky chairs, and lukewarm pizza. The shelter made it clear they were upset and wanted to raise awareness about the situation. Fortunately, the mother cat and her kittens, who are a mix of colors including orange and calico, are doing well since their rescue. The shelter has raised over $1,600 to provide supplies for them. Although the mother could not produce milk, the kittens have been thriving. The kittens are living in a foster home, enjoying food and playtime. The shelter has referred to them as the "box family." They are not yet available for adoption, but the shelter is optimistic that they will find loving homes soon. The community has shown great support for the family, and the shelter is grateful for the love they've received.
