Ohio State names three 'Iron Buckeyes' for 2025
Ohio State University has named its 2025 “Iron Buckeyes” after winter workouts. Three players from last season's national championship team received this honor. The award is meant for players who show strong dedication, discipline, and leadership. Linebacker Sonny Styles, wide receiver Jeremiah Smith, and offensive lineman Austin Siereveld were recognized for their hard work. Strength and conditioning coach Mickey Marotti highlighted that this is a prestigious award in the program. Sonny Styles returns as a key defender and third-year starter. Jeremiah Smith had an impressive freshman season and is now recognized as a standout player. Austin Siereveld provided important support on the offensive line during a challenging season. In addition to these awards, Ohio State has made two new offers to 2026 prospects. Offensive tackle Aaron Thomas from Arizona and Chancellor Campbell from Florida both received offers after their visits. They are ranked as three-star recruits. Ohio State's offensive line coach, Tyler Bowen, is actively looking to enhance the team’s quality and depth. The spring showcase is set for April 12, 2025. Other key dates include the NFL Draft from April 24-26 and the season opener against Texas on August 30, 2025.
