Ohtani hosts lavish sushi dinner for Dodgers teammates
Shohei Ohtani is treating his Los Angeles Dodgers teammates to a special dining experience in Tokyo, Japan. The team is in Tokyo to start the 2025 MLB regular season with two games against the Chicago Cubs. Ohtani, a well-known player and three-time MVP, hosted an extravagant sushi dinner for his teammates. Ohtani shared moments from the dinner on his Instagram. One photo shows him with his teammates and the chef, next to a large tuna fish. He posted videos of the chefs preparing the tuna, capturing the excitement of the meal. A highlight was when first baseman Freddie Freeman tried sushi for the first time. Ohtani encouraged Freeman to keep an open mind before he tasted sea urchin. Freeman was pleasantly surprised, exclaiming, "That's not bad! Wonderful." The Dodgers recently played their first game of the season against the Cubs at the Tokyo Dome, winning 4-1. Ohtani had a strong performance, hitting a single and a double while scoring two runs. In the ninth inning, he hit a double and later scored again, helping secure the victory. The final game of the series will take place on March 19 at 6 AM ET.
