Olyphant man arrested for shooting ex-girlfriend in Scranton
An Olyphant man has been arrested for allegedly shooting his ex-girlfriend in Scranton. The incident occurred on March 9, according to local police. They say the shooting resulted from ongoing threats related to a custody dispute. The man, Claude Harris, is 27 years old and lives on Susquehanna Avenue. He faces several serious charges, including felony aggravated assault and conspiracy. Police reported that the victim was shot while among a group of people on Lafayette Court, but her injuries were not life-threatening. At the time of his arrest, Harris was already on parole in Pennsylvania. This was due to a previous conviction in 2021 for felony drug possession and illegally possessing a firearm. He was taken into custody and has been arraigned at the Lackawanna County Justice Center. Harris currently remains in Lackawanna County Prison.
