One dead and dozens injured as PTI supporters clash with police in Islamabad
ISLAMABAD: A large convoy of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) supporters, led by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, entered Islamabad late Monday night, facing clashes with police. The police used teargas and batons to control the crowd, but retreated in some areas. Security in the capital has been tightened, with additional police and shipping containers deployed to block access points. Major roads connecting Islamabad to other cities remain closed, disrupting travel for three days. Violent clashes resulted in the death of a police constable and injuries to several others. PTI leaders continue to demand the release of Imran Khan, maintaining their protest plans despite the unrest.
