One killed, two injured in Bruce Highway crash

A crash on the Bruce Highway in north Queensland has left one person dead and two others injured. The accident occurred early on Monday near Bowen, at the Scully Street intersection. Emergency services, including four fire crews, responded to the scene around 6 a.m. One of the vehicles involved was on fire when help arrived. Sadly, a person was pronounced dead at the scene. The two injured were taken to Bowen Hospital. One of the injured people has only minor injuries, while the other suffered severe pelvic and abdominal injuries. This accident marks the 50th fatality on Queensland roads this year. The highway is currently closed in both directions, and diversions are in place. Queensland Police are asking anyone with information, including dashcam or CCTV footage, to come forward.
