One seriously injured in Taihape crash, airlifted

A serious crash occurred on State Highway 1 in Taihape. One person was airlifted to Christchurch due to serious injuries. Another individual sustained moderate injuries and was taken by ambulance to Palmerston North Hospital. The crash took place on Monday afternoon near Spooners Hill Road. Emergency services responded to the scene at around 4:40 PM. Fire and Emergency New Zealand reported that one person was trapped inside the vehicle and had to be extracted. In a separate incident, a crash in Whanganui resulted in another person being taken to Whanganui Hospital with moderate injuries. The details of that crash are currently limited.
