One-way violations on Odathurai service road increase accidents
The service road connecting Odathurai Main Road and Chennai Bypass is facing serious traffic rule violations. Many drivers are ignoring the one-way rule, putting themselves and others in danger. They are taking the wrong side of the road to save time. Motorists prefer this route because it seems quicker than going through the narrow Sanjeevi Nagar Main Road. To reach the Chathiram Bus Stand, drivers often have to make a U-turn at Kondiyampettai. Instead, they choose this unsafe shortcut to get to the Bypass faster. Highway patrol police have noted an increase in accidents in this area due to these violations. Despite their warnings, many drivers continue to break the rules. R. Karthikeyan, a commuter, pointed out that the lack of proper roads forces drivers to take risks. Police are asking for plans to widen the Odathurai service road to allow for two-way traffic. They've also submitted a proposal for an underbridge, which they believe will help reduce accidents in the area.
