Onimusha 2 remaster launches May 23 with 'Hell' mode
Capcom announced new details for the upcoming remaster of Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny. The game will launch on the Nintendo Switch on May 23, 2025. One major feature is the introduction of a new "Hell" mode. This extremely difficult setting offers a challenge where players are defeated after just one hit from an enemy. Motohide Eshiro, the game director, revealed that even he hasn't managed to complete this mode yet, raising the stakes for players. In addition to "Hell" mode, players can also look forward to improvements in gameplay. Features like Critical Attack have been enhanced, allowing for multiple attacks in a row. Magic and charge attacks are also improved. All minigames will be available from the start, and players can enjoy the game's digital soundtrack, featuring over 40 tracks, at any time. A gallery will showcase more than 100 high-definition pieces of artwork. Capcom has also made several quality-of-life improvements to make the game more enjoyable. Pre-orders are now open on the Switch eShop, and players who pre-order will receive a bonus album selection pack and a special outfit for those who have played Onimusha: Warlords.
