OpenAI's first artist in residence, Alexander Reben, explored the creative potential of AI tools during his three-month program. He used the Sora text-to-video tool to create 3D models and sculptures, blending technology with traditional art forms. Reben developed a "conceptual camera" that generates humorous AI labels and images from photos. This innovative approach allows for playful reinterpretations of everyday objects, showcasing the intersection of art and technology. His work, including pieces created during the residency, is currently displayed at the Charlie James Gallery in Los Angeles and will be featured at the Untitled Art fair in Miami Beach.
