Orban invites Netanyahu to Hungary, pledges to ignore ICC arrest warrant
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban announced he will invite Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to Hungary. Orban stated he would ensure that an International Criminal Court (ICC) arrest warrant against Netanyahu would not be enforced. The ICC issued arrest warrants on Thursday for Netanyahu, his former defense chief, and Hamas leader Ibrahim Al-Masri, citing alleged war crimes in the Gaza conflict. Orban criticized the ICC's actions, calling the warrant "wrong." Orban emphasized that Netanyahu would be able to negotiate in Hungary "in adequate safety." Hungary currently holds the rotating presidency of the European Union.
