Oregon Governor Tina Kotek plans to make leadership changes at three state agencies. The announcement came on Thursday after the resignation of Berri Leslie, who leads the Oregon Department of Administrative Services. Leslie will leave her position in June. Betsy Imholt, currently the director of the Department of Revenue, will take over for Leslie. Imholt has a long history in state government, previously working for the Oregon Department of Transportation and as chief of staff to Senate president Peter Courtney. Governor Kotek praised her for enhancing taxpayer services and creating a free tax filing portal. David Gerstenfeld will take Imholt’s role at the Department of Revenue. He has been the director of the Oregon Employment Department since 2020, guiding the agency through challenges faced during the pandemic. The employment department struggled with a surge in claims due to outdated technology, causing delays for jobless workers. Under Gerstenfeld's leadership, improvements are underway, including the rollout of a new claims system. Andrew Stolfi, currently leading the Department of Consumer and Business Services, will step in for Gerstenfeld. Stolfi's department oversees various important functions, such as building codes and health care compliance. During his time, the department addressed insurance companies' failures in providing required health care services. Governor Kotek will now search for a new director to lead the Department of Consumer and Business Services.
