The No. 8 Oregon softball team had a successful day, winning both games against Illinois in a doubleheader. The Ducks won the first game 9-1 and finished strong with a 14-0 victory in the second game. In the first game, Oregon built a big lead before Illinois scored. Rylee McCoy led the way with a double, home run, and three RBIs in the second game. The Ducks scored eight runs in the first inning of Game 2 to take control early. Ellie Haggard hit a home run for Illinois, but it wasn’t enough to change the outcome. Oregon's Lyndsey Grein pitched well, allowing only one run in Game 1. Elise Sokolsky and Taylour Spencer also pitched effectively in the second game. The teams will play one more non-conference game on Sunday to complete the series.
