Oregon woman died after being swept into creek
A woman from Oregon has been found dead after she was swept into a creek while trying to clear flood debris. She disappeared on March 16 during heavy rain while checking on flooding at her home on Kane Creek Road. The Jackson County sheriff's report said she was last seen around 4 p.m. A swift-water rescue team found her about 100 yards downstream from her home. She was taken to a hospital but was pronounced dead shortly after. Authorities believe she drowned after her waders filled with water. These waterproof pants are often used in fishing, and they likely weighed her down as she tried to clear a blocked culvert. The sheriff's office has not released her name or age. Her home is located approximately three miles south of Gold Hill, a small community in southern Oregon.
