Orlando Pride faces tough matchup against Gotham FC
The Orlando Pride are gearing up for a challenging match against NJ/NY Gotham FC in the National Women's Soccer League. The Pride opened their season with a strong performance, scoring six goals in their first game. They currently hold a record of one win and no losses. Head coach Seb Hines emphasized the importance of continuing their momentum from the last match. He acknowledged the competitive nature of the upcoming game and recognized Gotham as one of the league's top teams. Gotham reached the semifinals last year, and despite losing key players in the offseason, they remain a formidable opponent. Coach Hines praised Gotham's coach, Juan Carlos Amoros, for maintaining a high standard of play. The Pride will need to perform at their best to secure a positive result. Barbra Banda, a standout forward who was an MVP contender last season, is expected to be a key player for Orlando. She scored twice and provided an assist in their last match. The Pride's defense has also proven strong, managing to keep a clean sheet against Chicago. However, they will face a tougher challenge from Gotham's attacking players, Gabi Portilho and Esther González. The match between the Pride and Gotham FC is set for Sunday at 5 PM at SI Stadium and will be broadcast on ESPN2.
