Orlando theaters and events reopening with new productions
Several theaters and arts events in Orlando are preparing for exciting comebacks and new productions. The IceHouse Theatre in Mount Dora will open a two-woman musical called "Honky Tonk Laundry" on March 21. The show is set in a laundromat and features characters dreaming of music careers. It runs through April 13, with tickets priced at $25. Little Radical Theatrics will present "Carousel" at the Dr. Phillips Center from March 21-23. This classic musical, directed by Travis Eaton, explores love and redemption. Tickets start at $40. The Timucua Arts Foundation is hosting its first Opera Festival. It includes concerts like "Vino e Voce" on March 21-22 and "Mozart and More" on March 28-29. In-person tickets are $30, and video-on-demand tickets are $10. "Mean Girls," the musical based on the popular film, will return to the Walt Disney Theater for a limited engagement from March 28-30. Tickets start at $55. Another unique venue, Theater on the Edge, is reopening with the drama "Birds of North America" from April 12 to May 18. This intimate theater has only 25 seats, and ticket prices range from $18 to $34. Looking ahead, the Renaissance Theatre will bring back “Gorgeous,” a musical comedy, starting April 11. Additionally, the Florida Festival of New Musicals will feature new works, including “Ink & Paint,” about the first all-woman Disney animation unit, from June 19-22.
