Oswego man shot after swinging metal object at trooper
An Oswego County man named Miles Dignean was shot and killed by a deputy after he swung a metal object at a trooper. The incident happened on Friday at around 12:09 p.m. in Constantia, New York. The deputies were called to a home on Cook Road because Dignean was having a psychotic episode. They were there to serve him an order of protection. The Attorney General's Office is now investigating the situation. They confirmed Dignean was 32 years old and from Constantia. This case has raised concerns about the actions taken by law enforcement during critical mental health crises.
