OTTplay Awards 2025 recognize talent in digital entertainment
The OTTplay Awards 2025 took place today in Mumbai, celebrating exceptional talent in the entertainment industry. The event honored actors, filmmakers, and public personalities who have successfully expanded their careers beyond traditional roles. Kani Kusruti won the award for Versatile Performer of the Year (Female) for her work in several projects, including "Girls Will Be Girls." Sri Murali received the Trailblazer of the Year (Male) award for his role in "Bagheera." Sidhant Gupta was recognized as the Versatile Performer of the Year (Male) for his performances in "Freedom at Midnight" and "Black Warrant." Kajol took home the Best Actor Female - Popular award for "Do Patti," while Manoj Bajpayee won Best Actor Male - Popular for "Despatch." Rana Daggubati was named Best Talk Show Host for "The Rana Daggubati Show," and "The Roshans" won Best Documentary Series. Other winners included Divya Dutta as Trailblazer of the Year (Female) and Avneet Kaur, the Rising Star for "Luv Ki Arrange Marriage." The Best Showrunner award went to Sooraj Bharjatya for "Bada Naam Karenge." In the film categories, Imtiaz Ali was honored as Best Director for "Amar Singh Chamkila." Avinash Tiwary won Breakthrough Performance Male for "The Mehta Boys" and Shalini Pandey took the same honor for her role in "Maharaj." The awards also recognized achievements in comedy and drama, with Jyotika winning Best Supporting Actor Female and Raghav Juyal being named Best Actor Male - Popular for "Gyaraah Gyaraah." Overall, the OTTplay Awards showcased a diverse range of talent and celebrated contributions to new-wave cinema.
