Over 1.8 million people affected by recent typhoons in the Philippines
Over 1.8 million people in the Philippines have been affected by the recent weather disturbances, including Typhoons Nika, Ofel, and Pepito, according to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC). Currently, 688,062 individuals are displaced, with 441,476 taking refuge in evacuation centers. Flooding has impacted 183 areas across several regions, including Ilocos and Bicol. Typhoon Pepito is moving at 25 km/h with maximum winds of 155 km/h. It was last located near San Fernando, La Union, and is expected to exit the Philippine area of responsibility soon.
