Over 30,000 plant-based burgers recalled in five states
A recall has been issued for over 30,000 cases of plant-based burgers after a metal bolt was discovered in one of the products. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced this recall, which affects burgers distributed in Illinois, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Delaware. The burgers involved in the recall are the Chef's Line U.S. Foods 3 Grain Burger, produced by The Fillo Factory Inc. This recall began on February 2. Each case contains 36 patties, each weighing 4.25 ounces and packaged in plastic bags within cardboard boxes. The FDA classified this incident as a Class II recall. This indicates that while the risk of serious harm is low, there could be temporary health effects, such as injuries to the mouth or digestive system. No injuries have been reported at this time. Customers should check for specific lot codes on the packaging that range from 0734 to 0425. Consumers with the affected product are advised to return it to the place of purchase for a full refund within 30 days of the recall announcement. The FDA warns that metal fragments can cause serious injuries, including cuts or damage to teeth. Consumers are encouraged to stay informed and report any concerns regarding food safety.
