Over 4600 stranded in Philippine ports as Super Typhoon Pepito hits
More than 4,600 people are stranded in ports across the Philippines due to Super Typhoon Pepito. The Philippine Coast Guard reported 4,642 individuals affected in 64 ports as of early Sunday morning. The majority of stranded individuals are in the Bicol region, with 2,589 reported. Other affected areas include Southern Tagalog, Central Visayas, and Eastern Visayas. Additionally, 31 vessels and 22 motorbancas are stranded, while 256 vessels seek shelter. As of 4 a.m. Sunday, Pepito was located 85 kilometers northeast of Daet, Camarines Norte, with maximum winds of 185 kilometers per hour. The typhoon is expected to bring severe weather to several regions, including Northern Samar and Metro Manila.
