A large quantity of illegal drugs was seized in Cavite on Friday. The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) reported that drugs worth P217,642,000 were confiscated during a buy-bust operation in Bacoor City. The arrested suspect is a 35-year-old Chinese national named Li. He is accused of selling about one kilo of suspected shabu, valued at P6.8 million, to an undercover buyer in a fast food restaurant parking lot. In addition to the kilo of shabu, authorities found 31 more bags containing 31 kilos of shabu worth P210.8 million. They also seized four bags with 35 ecstasy tablets worth P42,000, along with a vehicle and other personal items. Li is facing charges for selling and possessing illegal drugs, according to the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. PDEA director general Isagani Nerez stated that Li had been under surveillance for some time and was known for distributing large amounts of illegal drugs.
