thehindu.com

The Padaharam bridge over the Pampa river is set to open in April. While the bridge construction is complete, work on approach roads and painting is ongoing. The bridge connects Nedumudi and Thakazhi panchayats and cost ₹63.35 crore. This bridge is the first "pathway bridge" in Kerala, featuring footpaths for pedestrians and eight watchtowers for scenic views. It will link the Alappuzha-Changanassery road with the Ambalappuzha-Thiruvalla road, reducing travel distance by about 10 km. The project was announced in the 2016-17 Budget, with construction starting after delays. Two additional bridges are planned to complete the bypass road connecting the AC road with National Highway 66.
