Pagasa raises rainfall warning as Typhoon Pepito nears Luzon

The Philippine weather bureau, Pagasa, has upgraded its rainfall warning for Metro Manila and Cavite as Typhoon Pepito approaches. The typhoon is currently 630 kilometers east of Guiuan, Eastern Samar, moving west at 30 kilometers per hour. Pagasa now forecasts heavy to intense rainfall of 100 to 200 millimeters from Sunday noon to Monday noon. This is an increase from the previous warning of moderate to heavy rainfall of 50 to 100 millimeters. Typhoon Pepito is expected to make landfall in Catanduanes between Saturday evening and Sunday morning, then cross Luzon and enter the West Philippine Sea by Monday.
