Pakistan completes 43 projects worth $24.7 billion under CPEC, National Assembly reports
The National Assembly was informed that 43 projects worth $24.703 billion under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) have been completed. Eight ongoing projects valued at $759.56 million are currently in progress. Key projects include the Gwadar Free Zone Phase-II in Balochistan and the Rashakai Special Economic Zone in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Other developments span across Sindh and Punjab, focusing on industrial and educational improvements. Additionally, the current account deficit has decreased by 79% to $217 million in the first two months of FY25, aided by strong remittance inflows and stable exports. Gwadar Port is now operational, handling various cargo types.
