Pakistan kills 16 terrorists near Pak-Afghan border
Pakistani security forces have stopped a major attempt by Khwarij terrorists to cross the border from Afghanistan. The skirmish occurred near the Pak-Afghan border in North Waziristan. During the operation, 16 terrorists were killed. The attack happened in a region called Ghulam Khan Kaley. The terrorists tried to enter Pakistan but were quickly intercepted by security personnel. The military responded promptly, preventing any infiltration and ensuring the safety of the area. The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) highlighted the importance of cooperation from the Afghan government. Pakistan has urged Afghanistan to ensure that its territory is not used to launch attacks against Pakistan. In a separate incident, an attack on a police station in Lakki Marwat, in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, was also thwarted. Terrorists attempted to storm the facility, but police officers successfully defended it, forcing the attackers to retreat without any injuries reported among the security team. This attack was the second in 24 hours and part of a concerning trend of violence, with several major incidents occurring recently. In another thwarted assault, security forces repelled an attack on a border post. Advanced weaponry, including rocket launchers, was used by the attackers, but thermal imaging technology helped security personnel detect and respond effectively, avoiding serious damage.
