Pakistan minister criticizes PTI for failed protest in Islamabad
Federal Minister Attaullah Tarar criticized the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party for its "failed" protest in Islamabad, which was called off amid police crackdowns. He described the event as chaotic, with PTI supporters fleeing the scene. Tarar noted that key PTI figures, including Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur and Bushra Bibi, were unaccounted for but later confirmed to be safe. He claimed the protest aimed to disrupt a visit from the President of Belarus. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi emphasized the need for normalcy and announced that schools would reopen and mobile services restored. He stated that the PTI's actions caused significant damage and that investigations into vandalism would proceed.
