Pakistan to hold day of mourning for Prince Karim Aga Khan on February 8
Pakistan will observe a day of mourning on February 8, 2025, for Prince Karim Aga Khan, who recently passed away at age 88. The national flag will be flown at half-mast across the country. Prime Minister Shehbaz expressed condolences and recognized the Aga Khan's contributions to development, education, and humanitarian efforts. The government of Gilgit-Baltistan has also declared three days of mourning. Prince Karim Aga Khan was the spiritual leader of the Ismailis and known for his work in global development. He became the imam at age 20 and founded the Aga Khan Development Network in 1967.
