Pakistan to partially suspend internet and mobile services in Islamabad ahead of PTI protest
The Pakistani government will partially suspend internet and mobile services in Islamabad and parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab starting November 23. This decision comes ahead of a planned protest by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on November 24. The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority will activate an internet firewall from November 22. PTI is protesting for the release of its leader Imran Khan and claims its electoral mandate was taken in the February 8 polls. Authorities are preparing for potential clashes, as past protests have led to confrontations between PTI supporters and law enforcement.
