Pakistani leaders congratulate Donald Trump and seek stronger ties with US
ISLAMABAD: Following Donald Trump's election as the 47th president of the United States, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and other Pakistani leaders congratulated him. PM Sharif expressed eagerness to strengthen the Pakistan-US partnership under the new administration.
Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif welcomed Trump's victory, emphasizing that Pakistan would prioritize its own interests. Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif also congratulated Trump, hoping for improved relations between the two countries.
PPP Chairperson Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari congratulated Trump on his "historic comeback" and called for a focus on peace. Opposition Leader Omar Ayub Khan expressed hope for better ties between the people of Pakistan and the US under the new leadership.
