Pakistani terror groups link Kashmir struggle to Palestine
Pakistani terror groups are reportedly trying to boost anti-India feelings among Kashmiris by linking their cause to Palestine. Sources indicate that these groups include the ISI, Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), and Jamaat-ud-Dawa (JuD). They believe that Palestine has better global support compared to Kashmir. The groups think that attacks on Palestine receive widespread criticism from Western nations, while Kashmir does not attract the same attention. The ISI aims to draw parallels between the two issues, as they see both as struggles for the Islamic community, rather than just political conflicts. To further their agenda, they have hosted events such as a Kashmir-Palestine conference in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir last November. They also plan to organize a joint rally with leaders from LeT and Hamas, although they do not expect Hamas to physically attend in India. The sources noted that the Palestine issue resonates with both Shia and Sunni Muslims in Kashmir. This connection has been evident with the pro-Palestine slogans during local events, like Muharram processions. The hope is that showcasing Palestinian support will inspire Kashmiri Muslims to join their cause.
