Pakistani woman crosses border, flees husband's abuse
A 30-year-old woman from Pakistan was caught trying to enter India through the Rajasthan border. The Border Security Force (BSF) apprehended her on Sunday night. Authorities are now investigating her reasons for crossing the border. The woman, who identified herself as Amaira, claimed she fled due to domestic abuse in Balochistan. She said her husband, Wasim, mistreated her and that she had sought refuge at her parents' house in Karachi before deciding to escape to India. During questioning, her story raised some concerns. Officials found her mobile phone revealed searches about the status of women in India. She believed conditions for women were better there compared to Pakistan, which encouraged her to make the risky journey. BSF personnel detained her near the Vijeta border post. She was later handed over to local police for further questioning. So far, there is no evidence of espionage or illegal activities. Officials are cautious about her case due to the sensitive nature of the India-Pakistan border. They are considering a mental health evaluation to better understand her situation and intentions.
