Pakistan's IT workforce ready for global competition, says PM
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stated that Pakistan's IT workforce is ready to compete globally. He highlighted efforts to support IT companies in reaching a $25 billion export target during a meeting with Afiniti's CEO, Jerome Kapelus. Sharif encouraged Afiniti to invest further in Pakistan's IT sector, suggesting the establishment of a world-class call center. He is overseeing programs to enhance the technical skills of the youth in IT and AI. The US delegation praised the skills of Pakistani IT professionals. Kapelus noted that over 1,000 skilled workers are currently employed at Afiniti Pakistan, emphasizing the potential of the local workforce.
