Palestinians support ICC arrest warrants for Israeli leaders over Gaza war actions
The International Criminal Court (ICC) has issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former defense minister Yoav Gallant, citing their alleged roles in war crimes during the Gaza conflict. The Palestinian Authority and Hamas welcomed the decision. The ICC found "reasonable grounds" to believe that Netanyahu and Gallant are responsible for crimes including starvation as a method of warfare and other inhumane acts. The Palestinian Authority urged ICC member states to cut ties with the Israeli leaders. Hamas also expressed support for the warrants but noted their limited impact without global backing. Meanwhile, many Palestinians in Gaza feel the warrants will not change their situation, citing ongoing suffering and lack of enforcement of international decisions.
