Pam Bondi nominated as Attorney General after Matt Gaetz withdraws from consideration
Pam Bondi has been nominated by President-elect Donald Trump to replace Matt Gaetz as Attorney General after Gaetz withdrew amid controversy. Bondi previously earned $115,000 a month lobbying for the Qatari government, focusing on labor reforms. Bondi's lobbying work for Qatar included efforts to combat human trafficking and support labor law changes. She ended her contract in late 2019 to work in the White House during Trump's impeachment trial but returned to lobbying afterward. Currently, Bondi is affiliated with Ballard Partners and represents law enforcement clients. Qatar has faced criticism for its labor practices but has made reforms, including allowing workers to change jobs without employer permission.
