Panchayati Raj Ministry approves funds for over 4000 new panchayat buildings in 2024

In 2024, the Panchayati Raj Ministry approved funds for over 4,000 new Panchayat Bhawans to improve infrastructure in rural governance. This initiative aims to ensure that all Gram Panchayats with populations over 3,000 have dedicated office spaces. The ministry also expanded digital access by launching the eGramSwaraj platform in 22 languages and providing 31,003 computers to Panchayats with new buildings. These efforts are intended to enhance transparency and efficiency in local governance. Additionally, the SVAMITVA program finalized 2.19 crore property cards, supporting property rights in rural areas. Training programs for Panchayat officials focused on increasing local revenue and empowering women leaders in governance.
