Pāpāmoa East Interchange ramps may open early

nzherald.co.nz

The eastbound ramps at Pāpāmoa East Interchange may open in late 2025, nearly a year earlier than planned. This change could help reduce traffic congestion in the area. Bay of Plenty MP Tom Rutherford contacted the NZ Transport Agency in December 2024 about the early opening. He also wrote to the Minister of Transport on February 12 to support this initiative. The full completion of the interchange is still scheduled for the third quarter of 2026. Pāpāmoa is Tauranga’s largest suburb, with a population of 37,800.
