Pappu Yadav demands ban on Bajrang Dal, VHP in Nagpur

Lok Sabha MP Pappu Yadav has called for a ban on the Bajrang Dal and Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) following violence in Nagpur. He described their members as "hooligans" and accused the government of protecting them. Yadav believes these groups are harming India's social and economic progress. The violence in Nagpur erupted on March 17, leading to curfews in ten police station areas. An FIR has been filed against 51 individuals, including minors, for their involvement in the clashes. The report alleges that the crowd attacked police with stones, petrol bombs, and other weapons despite warnings to disperse. Yadav also expressed his opinion on law enforcement strategies. He dismissed the idea of a "Yogi model," emphasizing that crime should not be categorized by caste or religion. He stated that people in Bihar have a history of setting standards rather than following others. Maharashtra's State Minister for Home, Yogesh Kadam, condemned the violence and promised strict action against those responsible. The police have been given the authority to close roads in affected areas to ensure public safety. Those violating the curfew could face penalties under the law.
