Parents face attempted murder charges for honor killing
Ihsan Ali, 44, and his wife Zahraa Subhi Mohsin Ali, 40, face charges of attempted murder after allegedly trying to strangle their 17-year-old daughter outside Timberline High School in Lacey, Washington. The incident occurred on October 18 when the girl refused an arranged marriage. Witnesses reported that the girl's boyfriend and classmates intervened to save her from the attack. Video footage shows Ihsan yelling about his car being taken by police while being arrested, rather than expressing concern for his daughter. Zahraa was later arrested while attempting to flee to Canada. Ihsan was initially released on bail but was re-arrested and had his charges upgraded to second-degree attempted murder. He remains in custody, while Zahraa's bail remains unchanged.
