Parents face prison for allowing minors vehicle use

Bengaluru's traffic police are taking a tough stance on parents who let minors use vehicles. They now face possible jail time of up to three years and a fine of ₹1 lakh. This warning came after local police caught two minors performing dangerous wheelie stunts on two-wheelers owned by their parents. The police believe the minors have been neglected, leading them to associate with bad influences. In the past, parents would typically face fines of up to ₹25,000. However, under new measures, they will be charged under the Juvenile Justice Act. This change means that courts can impose stronger penalties, including imprisonment.
