Parents honor son Sebastian Sailes after his death
The parents of Sebastian Sailes, a 21-year-old university student, have paid tribute to their son after he was found dead. Sebastian went missing on 27 February after leaving the Black Horse Pub in Chippenham. His disappearance led to a massive search effort involving emergency services and volunteers from the community. On 11 March, divers found a body in the River Avon, which was later identified as Sebastian. In a statement, his parents thanked everyone who helped search for him and the community for their support. They expressed their grief and said, "Bad things happen to good people." They highlighted the kindness they experienced from the public and thanked several police forces and rescue teams for their help. The family described Sebastian as a remarkable young man with a kind spirit and a passion for life. They said, "He will forever be in our hearts and minds." Wiltshire Police have stated they will provide support to the Sailes family during this difficult time and requested that their privacy be respected.
