Parents upset about lack of notification in Charlotte incident

A man was arrested after causing a disturbance at Whitewater Middle School in Charlotte. The incident happened on Thursday evening during a track meet. The man, 38-year-old Jahod Isaac, reportedly yelled loudly and disrupted both students in study hall and visiting student-athletes. Parents expressed their concerns about not being informed about the situation. Many were upset that they did not receive notifications from the school district. Parent Laketia McClain stated that safety is a priority and emphasized the need for timely communication from school officials. As police arrived to help, Isaac allegedly assaulted a school resource officer (SRO) by slapping the SRO's hand away. He now faces charges of disorderly conduct and assault on a government official. It remains unclear if Isaac has any connections to the school community. Parents like Mitchell Stover highlighted a pattern of communication issues with Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. They called for better communication about safety incidents. Channel 9 has asked the school district for a response regarding notifications to parents but has not yet received one.
