Parkland is favored in EPC track and field

This year, the East Penn Conference (EPC) track and field season has introduced a new divisional format. There will be three divisions, each with six teams based on county. The teams will compete in five divisional meets and one against teams from the other divisions. The divisions are as follows: Northampton County includes Northampton, Nazareth, Bethlehem Catholic, Easton, Liberty, and Freedom. Lehigh County features Emmaus, Parkland, Whitehall, Allen, Dieruff, and Central Catholic. Monroe County consists of Stroudsburg and the East Stroudsburg schools. Important upcoming events are scheduled for late April and May, including invitationals and championships. Parkland’s boys and girls teams are the reigning champions and are expected to perform well again. Several teams, such as Allen and Bethlehem Catholic, face rebuilding years with many underclassmen. On the other hand, teams like Emmaus and Northampton return experienced athletes with strong records. Coaches are optimistic. They emphasize the potential of young athletes while expressing excitement over upcoming competitions. Fans can expect a competitive season as teams prepare to defend their titles and strive for new achievements.
