PathPresenter launches ConsultConnect for remote pathology consultations
PathPresenter has launched a new tool called ConsultConnect. This web portal is designed for remote second opinions in digital pathology. The aim is to make consultations easier and more affordable for healthcare institutions worldwide. ConsultConnect was developed by pathologists and uses Amazon Web Services (AWS) for its infrastructure. The portal addresses key issues that have slowed the growth of digital pathology. There are no upfront fees or subscriptions required. Instead, institutions pay a small annual fee and a "per-consult" charge. The onboarding process is fast, allowing users to start in just days rather than months. Many institutions view digital pathology as a cost rather than an investment. PathPresenter wants to change this perception by helping hospitals turn digital pathology into a revenue-generating service. Dr. Rajendra Singh, co-founder of PathPresenter, emphasized their goal to enhance institutions' reach globally. The ConsultConnect platform includes essential tools for pathologists and administrators. It features a user-friendly image viewer that is compatible with various scanners. This allows pathologists to receive, view, and complete second opinion cases easily. Administrators can use the portal to manage referring hospitals and incoming cases smoothly. ConsultConnect is built with strong security measures to protect patient information. It is monitored for HIPAA compliance by Vanta, a specialist in security and compliance. The solution has been optimized for AWS, which offers high performance and low costs for managing large volumes of pathology data. PathPresenter is starting an early adopter program for ConsultConnect at the USCAP Annual Meeting in Boston, from March 24 to 26. Institutions interested in participating can learn more about the program at their booth.
