PAU researcher wins Best Paper Award for pesticide study
Pushpinder Kaur Brar, a researcher at Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), has received the Best Paper Award for her study on pesticide residues in tomatoes. Her paper focuses on how a particular pesticide behaves and its potential risks. The award was given during a national seminar called 'Climate Resilient Agriculture in the Facet of Transition in Agriculture (CRAFT).' This event is organized by PAU's department of climate change and agricultural meteorology, along with the local chapter of the Association of Agro-meteorologists. Brar's paper was co-authored by researchers Ritima Bansal, Kousik Mandal, and Smriti Sharma. The vice-chancellor of PAU, Satbir Singh Gosal, congratulated her for her hard work in food safety and residue analysis. Ajmer Singh Dhatt, the director of research at PAU, also highlighted the importance of her research for consumer health and sustainable farming practices.
