Paula Abdul settles sexual assault lawsuit against Nigel Lythgoe as Sony ends Spider-Man spin-off universe
Paula Abdul has settled her sexual assault lawsuit against former co-worker Nigel Lythgoe in California. Abdul alleged multiple assaults during their time on reality shows. The terms of the settlement have not been disclosed. Lythgoe, facing three sexual assault lawsuits, stepped down as a judge on "So You Think You Can Dance" in January 2024. He expressed relief at being able to move on from the allegations. In other news, Sony is reportedly shutting down its Spider-Man spin-off universe after the poor performance of "Kraven the Hunter," which had the worst opening for any film in that franchise. The studio plans to focus on Spider-Man films in collaboration with Marvel.
