PDA plans housing schemes in beautified Prayagraj areas

Residents of Prayagraj will soon have the chance to buy homes in areas that have been improved as part of the recent Maha Kumbh festival. The Prayagraj Development Authority (PDA) is planning new housing options in these beautified locations. Under the guidance of vice chairman Amit Pal Sharma, the PDA has created a special team to find suitable land near the newly upgraded roads. This work is part of a larger effort to enhance the city’s appeal and boost tourism. During the Maha Kumbh, the PDA completed several projects, including upgrading 42 roads and installing about 2,500 streetlights. They also beautified 13 major intersections to create a better environment for visitors. Sharma noted that many neighborhoods are now more attractive and equipped with necessary amenities. This makes them popular choices for potential homeowners. The PDA is looking at areas such as the inner-ring road, near the upcoming six-lane bridge over the Ganga, and the locality close to Prayagraj Airport as possible sites for their housing schemes. Plans include developing over 300 flats and 400 plots of land. To start, the PDA aims to acquire between 150 to 200 hectares. They are reviewing their properties to ensure they are clear of encroachments or legal issues, so they can expand their land bank for future housing and commercial projects.
