Pedestrian killed in Monroe County car crash

A 31-year-old man was killed in a car crash in Monroe County, Michigan. The accident happened on Thursday evening around 8:30 p.m. on Telegraph Road. According to Michigan State Police, the driver, a 39-year-old woman from Carleton, was driving a black Ford Escape. She was heading north on Telegraph Road when she hit the pedestrian, who was walking near the road. The man was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver was not injured and stayed at the location to help police. Telegraph Road was closed for several hours while officers investigated the crash. Authorities do not suspect that alcohol or drugs contributed to the accident. The investigation is still ongoing.
