Penguins send defenseman Aho to AHL affiliate team
The Pittsburgh Penguins have sent defenseman Sebastian Aho to their AHL affiliate, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. This move was made on Saturday. Aho had been recalled to the NHL team on March 11 due to emergency roster needs. The 29-year-old player has not participated in any NHL games this season and was a healthy scratch for the last five games. Before this assignment, Aho had been moved between the NHL and AHL rosters several times. While playing in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, Aho recorded seven assists in 17 games. Aho is in his first year of a two-year contract, which counts for $775,000 against the salary cap.
